Many institutional investment firms don’t know where to start when it comes to digital asset custody. Whether making a switch, outgrowing self-custody, or researching custody solutions for the first time, institutional investors want to know what to look out for, and what questions to ask.

Together with leading crypto investment fund BlockTower, we have created a guide to help investment firms understand the institutional crypto custody landscape.

Contents

The guide is divided into four sections: Security, Usability, Crypto-Native Services, and Additional Considerations. Each section provides an overview of what institutional investors can expect from custodians today, and what considerations they should have in mind when evaluating custody solutions.

At the end of the guide, we’ve included a detailed set of more than fifty questions institutional investors should ask of any custodian they consider.
